The SNCF (French national railway operator) network will be disrupted from 08:00 pm on February 28th to 08:00 am (local time) on March 1st due to a strike. According to the SNCF , between February 28th and 29th the TGV (high-speed) trains between Paris and the rest of the country should operate as usual with the exception of the Paris-Nice and the South-West services, while two TGV out of three will circulate in the rest of the country. Intercity trains as well as TER and Trainsilien regional services will also be disrupted. The Talgo Day trains, running between France and Spain, will be halted. Only minor disruptions are expected from February 29th night to March 1st. Despite this industrial action, Eurostar and Thalys services will operate normally.
Unions are protesting against the austerity measures adopted in France and all around Europe due to the debt crisis. Further strikes cannot be ruled-out.
Passengers are advised to confirm all their travel arrangements before heading to train stations.
